Taiwan’s well-known security monitoring equipment manufacturer iCatch International Co., Ltd. recently announced a major expansion of its business areas and officially entered the electric vehicle market. This cooperation marks the company’s expansion into the green energy industry from intelligent security monitoring, further enriching its product line. According to reports, Desirable International has reached a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian religious organization Muhammadiyah to supply 500,000 electric motorcycles to assist Indonesia in promoting the transformation of electric vehicles and achieving the goal of a sustainable transportation system.

Since its establishment in 2005, Kechi International has been the world’s leading supplier of intelligent security monitoring systems. Its products include digital video recorders (DVR), CCTV and IP surveillance systems, which are widely used in smart homes, Internet of Things (IoT) and industrial monitoring. However, with changes in global market demand and the push for green energy trends, Desirable International decided to expand into the electric vehicle market, especially the rapidly growing electric motorcycle industry. This cooperation highlights the company’s determination to flexibly utilize its technology and manufacturing capabilities to enter non-traditional markets.

Desirable International stated that this cooperation with Muhammedya is an important milestone in the company’s development process and can further consolidate its technological leadership. This cooperation will integrate the international intelligent monitoring technology into electric motorcycles, from energy management systems to Internet of Vehicles functions, to provide products with more added value, thereby enhancing market competitiveness.

As one of the largest and most influential religious organizations in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah plays an important role in the country’s social and economic fields. The organization has long been active in promoting public welfare undertakings such as education and medical care, and in recent years has begun to pay attention to environmental protection and sustainable development issues. This cooperation with Kechi International is not only an important measure in the field of environmental protection, but also reflects the Indonesian government’s support for replacing traditional fuel-based transportation.

As one of the largest economies in Southeast Asia, Indonesia’s rapid growth in transportation has put tremendous pressure on the environment. The Indonesian government is also actively promoting policies to replace traditional fuel vehicles with electric vehicles, including subsidies for the purchase of electric vehicles and infrastructure construction. The cooperation between Desirable International and Muhammedya not only helps the company increase its visibility in the Indonesian market, but is also in line with local policy directions and brings a win-win situation to both parties.

In addition, Desirable International’s deep accumulation in intelligent monitoring technology makes it logical to enter the electric motorcycle market. These electric motorcycles will use cutting-edge intelligent monitoring technology, including real-time data monitoring, remote fault diagnosis and GPS positioning. These technologies will not only improve vehicle safety but also improve the efficiency of traffic management.

At the same time, Desirable International’s vehicle-to-everything technology (V2X) will also be integrated into electric motorcycles to achieve communication and interconnection between vehicles and infrastructure. This technology can effectively promote the optimization of traffic flow, reduce the occurrence of traffic accidents, and cooperate with intelligent transportation systems to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction goals. This cooperation provides Indonesia with advanced electric transportation solutions and promotes the country’s transformation from traditional transportation modes to green travel.

According to market data, the electric motorcycle market is growing at an alarming rate globally. Especially in Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, with the acceleration of urbanization and the increase in demand for clean energy, the electric vehicle market will become an important engine of future economic growth. The global electric motorcycle market is expected to reach double-digit growth by 2024, providing a huge opportunity for Desirable International to enter this field.

In addition, the successful experiences of well-known brands such as Gogoro, Vespa Elettrica and Niu are already on the market, indicating that the industry has broad room for development. As a leader in intelligent surveillance and IoV technologies, Desirable International is actively leveraging these technological advantages to seek greater market share.

On September 23, 2024, the Indonesian Muhammadiyah Organization and PT Icatch International Indonesia signed a formal memorandum of cooperation (MoU), confirming plans to purchase 500,000 electric motorcycles in the next four years. PT Icatch International Indonesia will be responsible for providing the required electric motorcycles and commits to building charging stations in areas agreed by both parties to ensure the completeness of the infrastructure.

Nugraha Hadi Hidayat, chairman of Muhammedya’s Economic and Business Department, pointed out that the cooperation aims to support the Indonesian government’s plan to increase the use of electric vehicles and promote the country’s progress in environmentally sustainable development. He emphasized that this move would not only effectively reduce pollution, but also promote Indonesia’s economic development and create more job opportunities. Hsu Renshu, president of PT Icatch International Indonesia, also said that the project provides a valuable opportunity for the company to enter the electric vehicle market, and hopes that through Muhammedya’s strong influence in Indonesia, it can realize the Indonesian government’s vision: to create a cleaner and more sustainable world transportation system.

Desirable International’s entry into the electric vehicle market not only reflects its ability to flexibly transform, but also demonstrates the company’s technological leadership in global intelligent transportation solutions. Through its cooperation with Muhammedya, Desirable International has not only created a new situation in the electric vehicle market in Indonesia, but also provided important reference for the application of green energy and the popularization of smart transportation around the world. With the continuous expansion of the electric vehicle market and the further development of technology, Desirable International’s application in the field of intelligent vehicle networking and electric transportation systems will continue to deepen, promote the construction of the global intelligent transportation ecosystem, and make positive contributions to sustainable development.
